Every October for the last twenty years, as the leaves begin to change, my family and I make a pilgrimage to the Pink Palace Craft Fair here in Memphis, TN. There’s something special about the combination of crispness in the air, boy scout doughnuts and hot apple cider in hand, wandering from booth to booth discovering hand-crafted goods and the artisans who make them.
This year was no different as my mother, my daughter and I wound our way through the tents and booths. Although rain threatened to impede our annual pilgrimage, it also served to enhance our day with it’s subdued daylight and chill in the air.
If you haven’t been, I recommend giving it a visit this time next year.
Here’s to fall and here’s to Memphis, a city I’m proud to call home.
