Rigby - Costa Rica Natural
Description
Hacienda Sonora Estate has been in Alberto’s family for more than a Century. In the 1970’s when Alberto took over the farm he began planting the majority of the land with coffee and shortly after it became the main source of income. In 1999, with historical low coffee prices, Alberto invested in a Mill to maximize his quality. He then became a pioneer in alternative processing techniques at the time such as Honey and Naturals.
Experimental process coffees like this one are relatively rare from this region as the climate is typically cool and humid making anaerobic, natural and honey type processing difficult to accomplish.
This is a coffee unlike other Costa Rica coffees because it has berries, dark chocolate, and stewed fruit flavors in the cup. We relish the unique sensation of it all coming together in this long lasting palate. What a rare and exceptional treat.
We taste cherry, blueberry, lime, and dark chocolate.
