How we brew it
Cold Brew
- Ratio: 1:8
- 125g of coffee
- 34oz of room temp water
- This makes a concentrate
What you need
- 125g coarsely ground coffee
- 34oz room temp water
- A vessel to brew in — a large sealable jar, a French press, or a dedicated cold brew brewer all work.
Grind size
The coarsest setting your grinder will allow. The coffee should be the size of chunky kosher salt.
We can grind your beans in the shop for you on request.
Directions
If using a brew bag, place it in your container. Add the grounds. Pour water over them and stir until fully saturated. Seal it up and store at room temp, out of direct light, for 20–24 hours.
Remove the grounds and move it to the fridge — it keeps for up to 12 days.
When you’re ready to drink it, dilute 1:1 with water or milk.
A note on straining
If you’re brewing without a bag — in a French press or open jar — you’ll want to strain the finished concentrate through a paper filter. It’s an extra step but it makes a cleaner cup.
